The ad in one paragraph

Helios Luxe, the luxury watch boutique chain from the House of Titan, has brought actor-producer John Abraham on board for ‘Stories That Deserve Your Time’. The campaign is a narrative series rather than a single product spot. Abraham does not walk through a price list or linger on dial specs; he frames the story around why each brand exists. The rollout starts with lead films that establish this storytelling mode, then moves into brand films about identity and philosophy, followed by films on design, horology and heritage.

The levers it pulls

Three behavioural principles carry the campaign.

  • Identity appeal: The central question is not what a watch does but what it stands for and which part of that story the viewer identifies with. That converts a purchase from a feature comparison into self-signalling: the buyer is choosing a set of values, not just a movement.
  • Curiosity gap: The films keep saying the most valuable stories are not written on the dial. They hide in a hand-painted dial, an unexpected crown, or a mechanical calibre revealed only when the watch is turned over. By naming these details without showing everything at once, the campaign creates a reason to keep watching.
  • Credible messenger: John Abraham is not used as a generic star. He is introduced through his known love of machines and engineering, so his narration about what is inside the watch feels like a shared interest, not a scripted endorsement.

What it does for the brand

It moves Helios Luxe from jewellery counter to storytelling curator. Rahul Shukla, vice president and chief sales and marketing officer of Titan’s watches division, frames time as a luxury no one can purchase more of, so anything that asks for it had better be worth it. That is a confident positioning for a multi-brand boutique. It tells shoppers that Helios Luxe does not merely stock watches; it decodes the convictions behind them—a rebellious streak, a love of the ancient, a refusal to follow rules, an ambition to build in India for the world.

Abraham’s own framing supports this. He says a watch tells time but also reveals the mind that made it, reinforcing the shift from product to maker.

What to borrow for your next campaign

Start with the belief, not the specification. If the product was born from a conviction, lead with that idea and let the physical details serve as proof. Hold something back. Name one hidden detail, show its effect, and let the audience come closer; a calibre on the back of a watch is more interesting when you have to turn the case over to find it. Finally, pick a face whose biography fits the craft. Abraham works because he loves machines and engineering, so the message feels plausible instead of borrowed.
