SKINN Makes Everyday Moments the Fragrance Occasion

SKINN signs Ayushmann Khurrana and Sobhita Dhulipala to make fine fragrance a daily ritual rather than a saved-for-special treat.

SKINN Turns Everyday Moments into the Occasion

SKINN, the fine fragrance brand from House of Titan, has named actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Sobhita Dhulipala as its new brand ambassadors. The announcement arrives with a campaign titled "Make Every Moment Special", built on a pointed idea: fine fragrance need not be saved for rare occasions, but can live inside everyday routines.

The campaign film places both actors in their own everyday moments, before their worlds come together under a star-filled night sky. Fragrance appears as part of their preparation, making the ordinary moment feel different through the way it is experienced.

The special-occasion trap

Fragrance in India has long been framed as an occasion product: weddings, festivals, dates and parties. That framing creates a usage problem. Consumers buy a premium bottle, then ration it to keep it "for something good", which slows consumption and repeat purchase. Sindhu Sharma, north creative director at Enormous, called out this habit as "saving the good stuff for later".

This is more than a creative line. It names a real behavioural barrier: when a product is mentally filed under rare events, people restrict how often they use it. The same bottle becomes a treat rather than a daily tool.

Why the reframe matters

For a fragrance brand, growth is not only about acquiring new buyers. It is also about increasing usage frequency among people who already own a bottle. Moving from "special occasion" to "everyday ritual" gives existing users permission to consume more often, finish products sooner and rebuy faster.

  • Anchor to a daily routine — fragrance pairs with the getting-ready habit people already have.
  • Show ordinary moments — the film avoids gala glamour and keeps the product in real life.
  • Change the language — from saving the good things to choosing them today.

The positioning move

Manish Gupta, CEO – Fragrance and Fashion Accessories, Titan Company Limited, said the category has evolved and that consumers recognise fragrance's ability to "shape how they feel and express themselves" and shift mood. SKINN's broader positioning follows that logic: fine fragrance as a simple, powerful daily ritual rather than an occasional accessory.

That also explains the ambassador choice. Ayushmann Khurrana and Sobhita Dhulipala are not deployed as red-carpet extras; they appear in everyday moments. The message is that specialness is a choice about how you show up, not a date on the calendar.

What marketers can borrow

Any brand sitting in a "saved for later" category can use the same move. Find the existing daily routine your product can attach to, show it in normal life, and challenge the restrictive rule that made it scarce. The growth lever is not always a new product; it is often a new usage script.
