200+ BFSI professionals put trust on the AI agenda

Banks, insurers, fintechs and wealth platforms are facing an odd tension: the more they automate, the more they are judged on something very human—trust. That question sits at the centre of afaqs! BankFin 360 2026, which returns on October 8 at Courtyard by Marriott, International Airport, Mumbai.

The one-day event is expected to draw more than 200 BFSI professionals and over 40 speakers across eight sessions. The agenda is less a technology showcase and more a map of how AI, data and digital distribution are changing the way India transacts.

Why trust is the brief now

AI is no longer a back-office tool in financial services. It sits inside onboarding, credit decisions, payments, servicing and retention. That makes personalisation feel magical and slightly unsettling at the same time. The system that approves a loan in minutes also raises a psychological question: who is accountable when the algorithm decides? Brands that answer that question clearly have an advantage over brands that simply sell convenience.

The agenda reflects this shift. Sessions cover the next financial consumer, the AI-native BFSI marketer, finfluencers and creator commerce, embedded finance, UPI as a consumer brand, and the science of retention and lifetime value. Among the speakers are senior marketing and business leaders including Nipun Kaushal, Gaurav Ramdev, Sheena Kapoor and others from banks, insurers, fintechs and wealth platforms.

  • The Next Financial Consumer – how AI, data and digital are changing how India transacts.
  • Finfluencers, Communities & Creator Commerce – the new trust economy.
  • Embedded Finance & Ecosystem Marketing – winning beyond traditional channels.
  • Retention & Lifetime Value – the science beyond acquisition.

The psychology underneath

A useful lens for the day is the trust equation: trust rises when credibility, reliability and perceived intimacy are high, and falls when self-orientation is high. In AI-era banking, self-orientation shows up as pushing products instead of explaining decisions, or chasing new customers while neglecting existing ones. The themes on this agenda—UPI becoming a consumer brand, Visa India’s payments marketing story, embedded finance—are all attempts to reduce friction while increasing the sense that the brand is on the customer’s side.

At the same time, the market is crowded. When products look similar and rates move quickly, trust is one of the few durable differentiators left.

What to watch

For Indian marketers, the timing matters. Financial products increasingly live inside apps, and the next generation of customers may never visit a branch. That makes brand trust a design decision: every onboarding screen, approval message and service interaction becomes evidence of whether the brand deserves the relationship.

For brand managers, the actionable thread is not “use more AI.” It is to make automated journeys legible and trustworthy. That means designing for transparency, not just personalisation; earning attention through communities and creators rather than interruptive ads; and balancing acquisition with retention and lifetime value. The brands that get this right will not just be faster—they will feel fairer.
