The ad in one paragraph

Nuvoco’s Sauthi Khaas Garba film is the Day 1 cut of a Gujarat Navratri property, created with MY FM. It sets up a state-wide Garba group competition: groups register at stalls across 10 Navratri events, move through semi-finals, and 20 finalists go to a grand finale judged by actor Karisma Kapoor, with Rs 11 lakh for the winner. It is regional, festive and participatory, built for Duraguard Cement’s Gujarat presence rather than a conventional product story.

The levers it pulls

The film leans on three behavioural science principles.

  • Social proof. The film does not have to argue that the campaign is big. It shows scale: 457+ group registrations, over six lakh cumulative footfall and activity across Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot. Visible participation makes joining feel normal and safe.
  • In-group belonging. Garba is already a Gujarati identity ritual. By making the property ‘Sauthi Khaas’, Nuvoco borrows an existing cultural identity instead of manufacturing one. Chirag Shah, head of marketing, innovation and sales excellence at Nuvoco, describes the goal as ‘meaningful connections with the communities they serve’.
  • Commitment and consistency. Registering a Garba group at an on-ground stall is a small public commitment. Once teams opt in, they are more likely to show up, perform, share updates and bring supporters, turning participants into the campaign’s distribution engine.

What it does for the brand

Nuvoco is strengthening Duraguard Cement’s presence in Gujarat by becoming a host of belonging, not a brand that interrupts the festival. The campaign’s integrated loop of radio, digital, creator-led content and on-ground activations keeps one story running. The result is cultural relevance with measurable scale: 12.5 million digital reach and six lakh footfall, both hard numbers for a regional property.

What to borrow for your next campaign

  • Anchor on an existing cultural moment rather than inventing a new one. Navratri already had attention; the brand simply joined it.
  • Design a participation ladder: registration, semi-final, grand finale. Each step is a new reason to share.
  • Mix channels, radio, digital, creators and on-ground stalls, so the same story travels in different formats.
  • Give the finale a visible face and a clear stake: Karisma Kapoor judging and Rs 11 lakh on the line make the outcome shareable.
