MuscleBlaze Makes 50% Higher Absorption Premium’s New Metric

MuscleBlaze is repositioning premium whey around a more useful promise: 50% higher protein absorption, backed by third-party testing and a cleaner label.

MuscleBlaze: 50% Higher Absorption, Not Just More Protein

MuscleBlaze wants consumers to stop judging premium whey by where it comes from and start judging it by how much of it actually reaches the bloodstream.

Asia’s largest sports nutrition brand has launched Biozyme Iso Zero, the first product in its Biozyme Iso range, with a new visual identity and a sharper proposition around absorption. The product carries 27g of protein per scoop from 100% whey isolate, with zero added sugar and zero artificial sweeteners. The claim doing the strategic work is inside the tub: MB EnzymePro, an enzyme technology MuscleBlaze says is clinically proven to deliver 50% higher protein absorption than regular whey.

The metric change behind the launch

Premium whey protein isolate in India has long been dominated by imported brands, bought largely on reputation and country of origin. The category has competed on grams per scoop, source and price — rarely on evidence. MuscleBlaze is trying to shift that purchase decision from label promises to a more useful standard: how much protein the body can actually take up.

What you swallow and what your body uses are not the same thing. A share of every shake passes through the body without being absorbed. MB EnzymePro is designed to break whey into smaller peptides, which the body can take up more easily.

  • 27g protein per scoop from 100% whey isolate
  • 50% higher protein absorption than regular whey, per the brand
  • 99% lactose-free, with stevia replacing artificial sweeteners
  • Independent testing across the US, UK and India, plus certifications from Informed Protein USA, Informed Choice UK, Trustified Gold Asia and Labdoor USA

The reformulation keeps the label short: whey isolate, MB EnzymePro, steviol glycosides, bromelain and lecithin. A compostable scoop completes the packaging story.

Why this is a branding lesson, not a supplement story

This is a classic category reframing move. When imported brands own the premium shelf through reputation and origin, a challenger can keep fighting the same battle or change the question. MuscleBlaze is trying to make absorption the new purchase criterion — one its enzyme technology is built to win.

Kaustuv Paliwal, Senior Vice President at Bright LifeCare, frames the relaunch with a simple rule: “cleaner formulation and stronger scientific credibility have to go hand in hand.” The third-party certifications do the psychological work of reducing risk, especially for a buyer weighing an Indian brand against an imported alternative. Consumers often lean on country of origin because they cannot easily verify quality; certifications convert an abstract claim into checkable proof.

For brand managers, the takeaway is bigger than protein. If your product’s edge is not the criterion the category currently ranks on, introduce a new metric that makes your advantage visible and verifiable. Then support it with evidence, because a new criterion only becomes the standard if buyers can trust it.

As the first product in the Biozyme Iso range, Biozyme Iso Zero is trying to make premium whey a question of evidence rather than origin. That is a positioning template worth watching well beyond the supplement aisle.
