Star Health turns a claim every 8 seconds into brand trust

Star Health's new campaign centres on one claim settled every eight seconds, turning claims support into a national trust message for India.

Star Health turns claims speed into a 20-year brand promise

Star Health and Allied Insurance has taken the most stressful moment in its category—a medical emergency—and turned it into the centrepiece of a 20th anniversary national campaign. The promise, “When India looks up in worry, Star Health answers,” aims to reframe health insurance from paperwork to reassurance.

The campaign’s proof is deliberately concrete. Star Health says it settles one claim every eight seconds, has settled more than 1.6 crore claims to date, and offers cashless treatment through a network of more than 16,000 hospitals and over 900 branches across the country.

Why claims support is the actual product

Nobody buys health insurance hoping to file a claim. The purchase is really a bet on how the company will behave when anxiety is highest. Star Health’s film follows four families in different parts of India through real hospitalisation scenarios. The story resolves at the point of approval: once the claim is cleared, money stops being the family’s immediate worry and treatment can take over.

That mirrors a useful behavioural lens—the peak-end rule. People tend to judge an experience by its most intense emotional moment and how it ends. In a health crisis, the peak is often the fear of not being able to pay. A visible, fast claim settlement changes that peak from uncertainty to relief.

Making scale feel personal

Large numbers can easily feel cold, but the campaign uses them as reassurance. Here is what brand managers can take from the approach:

  • Give one memorable proof point. One claim every eight seconds is easier to remember than a list of coverage features.
  • Show the emotional shift. The four families move from worry about money to focus on recovery.
  • Speak the customer’s language. The campaign runs across nine languages, making the same promise feel local.

The work builds on Star Health’s existing brand platform, centred on being there during healthcare moments. Conceptualised by KekuMeku Media and directed by Satyajeet Kadam, the film closes with a visual of India built from the faces of people Star Health has supported. It will run on TV, digital, cinema, outdoor and social in 30-second and 15-second cuts.

What brands can do with this

The takeaway is not specific to insurance. Find the moment in your customer journey where worry peaks, then make your brand the answer with a simple, demonstrable fact. The campaign ties that idea to India’s stated vision of Insurance for All by 2047, where dependable claims support is expected to strengthen trust in health insurance.
